Apollo Program: "Houston, we've had a problem."
μμ€ μ½λ
- κ²μμΌ 2021. 06. 10.
- We explore the dramatic story of NASA's Apollo Program, beginning with President Kennedy's ambitious deadline for a lunar landing after the Soviet Union took the lead in the 'Space Race'. Following the success of Apollo 11, and the fulfilment of Kennedy's goal of landing a man on the Moon, questions hung over the future of the Apollo Program. With declining public interest in Moon missions, and government funding slashed, NASA focused on scientific research. But the final phase of the Program is best remembered for the dramatic near-disaster of Apollo 13, in which the ingenuity of astronauts and Mission Control was pushed to the limit.

Greatest channel!!
Whatβs next Epic History Tv?
@Emmanuel Fernandez
more epic history...
@Emmanuel Fernandez Working on some naval projects, and there'll be a vote coming up on Patreon.
@Epic History TV awesome! Naval history is rich and exciting.
Don't worry about the stats guys, this series is amazing and really does justice to the great scientific achievements that it covers. The drop in views is probably related to youtube algorithms around this topic vs the other topics you have covered - battle-oriented history such as the Napoleonic Era and WW2 is simply booming right now. Keep up being awesome!
Thank you! We're very proud of the quality of the series, hoping this will prove a slow burner rather than immediate hit!
@Epic History TV
the topics you covered are often rare and not mentioned much on youtube, thats why covering Less well known bits is the best.
@Marshal Soult Bonjour Marechal.
@Epic History TV at least as compensation your Napoleonic Series have been booming recently, (to be fair theyβre some of the best content ever)
@Epic History TV Quite possible with the new Moon Landings coming in to focus, one imagines that in the coming years might lead to renewed interest in the history of manned flight to the Moon.
Hope it works out as you hope and it's a slow burn to such a future.
The Apollo series is so under appreciated, yet in my opinion itβs on par with the Napoleon series. Keep up the amazing content
I'm so glad I'm not the only one
Unfortunately it's underappreciated because there are two combative factions of subscribers trying to discredit it:
1) Conspiracy theorists that believe the Earth is flat and wear tinfoil hats
2) Anti-American people that despise U.S. achievements and want to belittle exceptionalism.
The Alexander series is my favorite!
... Apollo, ruling the Cold-War-Aera-Documentarys, Napoleon, unbeateble in Pre-World-Wars-Documentarys - neither being able to challage the other in its own domain!!
@Perdog You donβt need to be anti-American to think the concept of national exceptionalism is asinine.
Occamβs Razor: Why donβt people watch the Apollo series as much as the other series? They arenβt as interested. No nefarious intent or ideological bent necessary.
The idea that there are enough flat-earthers or blind haters of everything US related to put a significant dent in the view count is ridiculous.
The narrator is fricking epic
Well it's called "Epic History" for a reason π
Got just enough "grit" in his voice to really lend weight to the subject matter.
His voice is the BEST!!!
Charles Nove is awesome on the morning Scala Radio show.
@Bishop 66
Watching this series makes space exploration even more epic. I really want to see humans go to Mars in my life time
I really hope to see that myself aswell. I can't imagine the emotions of of people who witnessed the first moon landing
I think we need to sort ourselves out on this planet first without corrupting another planet
So infuriating how underrated this series is. Space and history are two of the most amazing subjects to learn about
Agreed, even sadder when the conspiracy nuts come on here.
Simply brilliant, easily one of the greatest series on the channel. Remarkably well paced, informative and powerfully narrated.
Great video as always!
The quality is sky-high , it reaches to the moon and beyond. Better than History channel will ever be .
Possibly the best episode you've ever made. The pure emotion felt by the anticipation of progress is simply unimaginable and indescribable. It seems that humans will be to Mars within our lifetimes. Thanks EH. :)
Totally enjoyed it! Can't believe we, as a species are capable of this!
Thanks Epic History! I almost cried tears of joy :')
I just love the narration of this channel. It's very important for any documentary or informative series to have a good narration and this channel nails it in every video.
Incredible and underapreciated series, thank you so much for delivering this mind blowing quality no matter the topic!
Epic! Just Epic!!!
That pause you did before you said that Apollo 13 had survived was perfect.
Such a great series. Its so amazing what they were able to accomplish.
Thank you for this series and giving a broader view of the heros that have gotten less attention than others. If their is one thing humans have always had in common, it's looking up to the stars. That ever present canvas up in the havens we've all gazed upon.
I mean I love your other video too, but this series is the most inspiring, and just so incredibly well made!
Thank you a thousand times for that
Thank you for the series, it's been wonderful to discover much needed details about each Apollo mission.
I watched every minute of every Apollo moon mission on U.S. television, as a 10-to-14 year old. I wouldnβt have missed them for the world, or its moon!
Yet another amazingly informative and captivating documentary
Keep up the good work guys π
Great content as always guys, canβt wait for your next series.
I would absolutely love to see Epic History do Caesar or Rome in general, but everything you do is awesome :)
God I was sweating, cheering, and on the edge of my seat the whole time, through and through an incredible video and an incredible series!
Get a grip man.
@Lord Lansdowne man you must be a lot of fun at parties π make a lot of friends by being a buzzkill for no reason?
This series was amazing. Thank you for covering this!
Another fantastic video, well written and well researched. Most history classes barely cover anything pass Apollo 13, so real cool to see what happened at the end. Would be awesome if you did next a video on the history of the Russian space program, we hear so little beyond their first man in space.
Shepard smuggling a golf ball to make a quick shot on the Moon is the most American thing Iβve seen in a while
I am Commander Shepard and this is my favourite past-time on the Moon.
A positive american thing for once
Was the golf ball ever recovered?
@S Venkateswaran At this point it's probably in another galaxy. I would have duffed my shot off the moon and would have to take a mulligan
Except for the fact that golf wasnβt invented by a US citizen.
Epic is rapidly becoming one of the very best history channels on YT!
Such an incredible and informative trilogy. I would love for you to chronicle the Space Shuttle missions
Thank you for an excellent series!
Epic history delivering the goods, now I need to see the previous parts again. Keep the amazing content comming
loved this series just as much as the others great work
What an Epic Series β€οΈ. Absolutely Loved This π!!!
Epic History is awesome, keep up the great videos, the narration is great as well as the background music
Napoleon had the incredible task of landing on theβ¦.Oh wait
Haha Napoleon raced to moon with 60 thousand men and blasted the moon men at point blank range
Napoleon knew an amphibious invasion of the moon would be a massive undertaking but he was determined to cut Britain's trade with the moonmen
I get what you mean. If the History Channel was once known as the Hitler Channel, Epic History TV is close to being the Napoleon Channel!
Napoleon vs the Lunarians
If he had a rocket,is posibel he whould do that
6:06 that was so funny lol. It wasn't a spectacular line like Neil Armstrong, but it was so good.
Whoopie!
This, the Apollo Program, is my favorite series by far from Epic History TV. Instead of ending with the rise or fall of an empire, kingdom, or state, or this man alive or dead, it concludes with a hope for more exploration, more knowledge, and man being humane instead of barbaric.
True, unfortunately in youtube history channels most people want to see napoleon, ceasar and alexander for their military might, this translate to lower viewers in other series.
Yes
amazing series, too bad it does not have as many views as other series in this channel. I would love to watch soviet space program story as well.
This was the best Apollo documentary on KRclip. Epic History and Kings and Generals are the new History Channel. Keep all the content coming, it's intoxicating..
theres just something so moving about the radio messages from astronauts. It must so overwhelming to realise the full scale of what we've done. Yet despite the emotions, they articulate their thoughts so well.
Gene Cernan was the last figure in history to combine emotional and psychological stability with superb personal drive and motivation in the molds of Gagarin and Shepard.
Is amazing how much was done after Apollo 11 but wasnβt televised. Crazy how much was accomplished for these Lunar missions with the technology of that time and just pure mathematics and problem solving for solutions.
Amazing as always! love this series
Fantastic!
Love this series! πππ
When listening to this I really feel what happens there. Truely Epic
Lovely! Hope you do more on the History of Space Exploration!
This really reminds me to watch Apollo 13. Its a great movie, Iβm gonna rewatch it. Completely forgot that all the stuff that the astronauts left on the moon is still there. Hopefully one day, moon travel would be easy for anyone to achieve.
The last words on the moon... just as powerful as the first.
May we soon return.
Just watch in 2025 when Elon musk puts the first person on mars these videos will blow up 10x. Fantastic quality and goes above and beyond on every delivery . Keep it up
Best YT channel, with absolutely great content!
Love the channel. You should do a video on Chernobyl!
Neil Armstrong when he stepped on the moon: *epic phrasing*
Me if i were the first to land there: 6:06
lol π
Epic history never fails to live up to their name π
Glorious work, as is to be expected from you.
Its rare to find History Channels that show more than just military history.
"Once you have tasted flight, you will walk the Earth with your eyes turned skyward. For there you have been, and there you will long to return." -Leonardo DaVinci
No idea why, but this immediately reminded me of J.R.R. Tolkien and some of his elves longing to go back to the sea without end, and so much that they simply wither away without it. Never viewed our fascination with flight like this before.
John Hermes Secondari, not da Vinci
love this series!
Awesome as always, never stop making videos
Yo I literally just rewatched the first two episodes for the first time in weeks during my lunch. Great timing with this release:)
Wow! thank you for this. I teared up.
When you were just about to rewatch epic history and Toby uploadsπΊπΊπ
I never appreciated how cool the mission patches are.
You did such a great job!
Thanks for this interesting series could you maybe make a cut with the complete series ?
Will do, stay tuned
some of the best content on this channel bravo
Best history channel period ππ
I have been looking forward to this! Many thanks!
by Sol
i didnt expect to see you here emperor
This channel always makes my day
Please do one on the ISS or the space shuttle missions :)
6:08 Lmao you can feel the joy on his words
Awesome video, what a way to end it...I'm not mad at the facts, just disappointed that's our mission
Love this channel! π
As an April Fool's Day video you should cover the Apollo 18 movie as 'Part 4' of this series!
These documentaries are soooooo good
Imagine the first landing on Mars
Yay! New episode in the series.
I still remember at age 12 staying up and covering the bottom of my bedroom door so no light would shine thru and watching the much delayed liftoff of Apollo 17.
thank you for finishing this series despite it not making as many views
It was a shame we never went back. It should have been our focus for further exploration. Not the shuttle or iss. Alas, we missed out. Thankfully we are going back.
Imagine being the last person to set foot on the moon. Another flight will not happen for at least another 50 years, almost a whole lifetime.
Im sure if nasa would have streamed it on youtube, they would have gotten many views, even if no tv channel would carry it
Man there's so much good stuff on KRclip today π―
Epic series
Epic history tv
All here is epic
This guys are crazy good!!!!!β₯οΈβ₯οΈβ₯οΈ
Super video thank you guys!
GIVING ME ALL THE CHILLS FROM ALL THE SPACEFLIGHT EEEEEEEEEPPPPP!!!!!!!!!!!
@epichistorytv you can use that voice to read ikea furniture instructions and Iβll be just as excited to hear it. Fantastic series and channel
Missed opportunity for shepherdβs last words before departing to be βI should goβ
I hope some day or soon we return to the moon. Great series!!! Tied with the Napoleon series.
LOLOLOLOL
Some day hell will freeze over...
The video you get in recommended years before actually discovering the channel
This video is excellent!!
π₯°π·Thank you for such a wonderful video,,,πππ·π
Excellent Work π
This reminds me of the book the Martian where the main character keeps having to improvise to try and survive on Mars
Crowning technological achievement of mankind.
The first apollo test was a disaster. Three astronauts burned and died inside the shuttle cockpit. That was a horrendous and tragic event. But NASA never gave up. They kept trying and had succeeded with Apollo 11. Thanks to their efforts and sacrifices, humankind reached the moon take steps to the moon's surface.
Please feature the Shuttle program!
I wonder how much closer we'd be to a manned Mars mission today if we didn't cut funding and lose interest after the Apollo moon landings.
Can I like, pay you guys to narrate my funeral? I feel like you'd make me seem epic.
great video!
This and Kings and Generals are the best channels on KRclip
WW2 and The Great War too!
Check out HistoryMarche
Don't forget Invictus
